Is there anything nicer than sitting outside in the sunshine and enjoying a nice pub lunch? We were talking the other day about how a ploughman’s is the perfect pub garden lunch – some new cheese, decent chutney and warm fresh bread – delicious! There are so many things we are loving eating outside, especially if it involves a pub…
It goes without saying that over recent weeks pub gardens have become more popular than ever. For starters, there are still people that are reluctant to be inside busy places and feel much safer outside – there’s even been an outdoors cinema opened up near to us!
Of course, the hot weather has helped the pull of the pub garden – who wants to be sat inside a dark pub where there is so much sunshine to enjoy! It’s just another reason we are loving eating outside.
The great news is that there are lots of places to enjoy a pub garden and as pubs have become aware that outdoor areas are more important they’ve started to refurbish outside areas to give pub goes even more! This means great seating, plenty of undercover seating and even TV screens to enjoy sporting events and things like outdoors karaoke!
Enjoying Pub Gardens
As well as enjoying eating in a pub garden there’s plenty of other things to do – for example, we love to take a good book and find a comfy spot to curl up and get lots in our book – even better if the pub has an app we can use to order food and drink; because then we don’t even have to lose our comfy spot! Theme restaurants can be fun too – especially because we’ve all had a year of not being able to do much – because it means we can have lunch and enjoy ourselves! If you have a favourite book, maybe you could find a themed pub that matches this and really have a good time!
With outdoor seating areas becoming so popular it’s wise to use things like the Square Meal website to book in advance. The website makes it easy for you to be able to book a table and ensure that you’re not going to be left standing around when you do arrive. The website is a really great way to see what discounts are available too; and who doesn’t want to save a bit of money?

Where To Go?
The choices of where to eat vary depending on where you live, but you can feel sure that wherever you are there will be options. Chain restaurants such as Wetherspoons and Harvester often have an outdoor seating area. Websites like Square Meal can also help you explore the options local to you, or indeed to an area you’re going be visiting. By researching in this way online, you can also do things like reading reviews or check out the menu in advance; which helps to ensure that whatever pub you do decide to go and spend time in the restaurant of, will be the right choice for you and the people you’re going out to eat with!
Don’t worry if you want to stay at home – a decked area in the garden, somewhere to place a hammock stand or even just a small patio can make all the difference!
