Arranging a Stress-Free House Move – Whilst many people claim that moving house is a stressful process, there are a bunch of people that have it down to a tee and know everything needed to go about arranging a stress-free house move. We asked them for their tips and here’s what they told us:
You Can’t Be Too Organised
One recurring theme throughout talks of home moves was being organised. Label up boxes and pack them in some order which means that you can unpack easily at the other end. Some even recommended packing an emergency box of things you might need for a day or two if you’re unable to get into your new house and unpack for any reason – the kettle has pretty big importance for most within this box. Once yo know you’re moving, even if its not for a while get started on things like decluttering and even packing away things that you know you wont need before you move.
Don’t Rush Things
Whilst being organised is key, rushing ahead and getting things done can make things worse. If things become hectic or feel last minute then it can be tempted to rush things in an attempt to get as many things done as possible. However, when we rush things we tend not to do them to the best of our ability (throwing stuff in a moving box rather than packing it neatly for example) or make poor decisions about which companies to use & in the long-run this often makes life harder.

Ask For Help
Many people spoke about using the experts for the best stress-free removal experience possible. Whilst budget does come in to play for some, actually most spoke about how it was great value for money because it made everything else much easier and in many cases more efficient, which actually saved money in the long run.
Make Lists
As part of being organised, one key piece of advice was to make sure that you write everything done – and make lists of things you need to do. Have a note pad at hand to write down things like information from utility companies and quotes from removal companies because the chances of remembering this information amongst everything else is slim. Then use some of the pages to write down lists of what you need to do – not only does this keep you organised, but being able to tick off tasks is a great way to stay motivated.
If you have any tips for arranging a stress-free house move we’d love to hear them
