Develop their Fine Motor Skills
Encourage your child to pick up plenty of toys
Lots of toys have different feelings, textures, shapes and come in all sorts of sizes. It gives children the chance to get to grips with what they’re learning and how they have to use their hands and fingers in different ways. Sensory toys are great for this as they give children the chance to pick up funny-feeling toys that can make crunchy sounds, wobble, be full of sand or other different textures.

Try out problem solving games
A lot of games that let children solve a problem involve picking up objects. For example, you can get a cup game that tests children in piling them up in the right way, from biggest to smallest. You can also use board games where they roll the dice or have to move counters across the board. In these instances, they’re not only solving problems in real-time, but they’re also learning to use their fingers to pick up tiny objects.
Get your child into gardening
Planting seeds, moving soil, picking up flowers and holding tools will greatly improve a child’s skills in being able to use their fine motor skills. They’re effectively learning how to dig into the soil, pick up very small seeds and place them into the ground, then water these areas. It tests a lot of a child’s skills in handling and holding objects and learning how to pick these up naturally over time.
