Exploring Creative Writing with Your Child
Letter To a Hero
If your child’s a big fan of Marvel, you can get them to write to one of their favourite superheroes.
Reading
You will have heard many reasons as to why you should encourage your child to read more. One is that it’s the fastest way to learn new words. As they expand their vocabulary, your child will be able to convey themselves much more easily and effectively through writing.

Story Writing
You can also set them off on a task to write a novel of their own. It doesn’t need to be pages and pages long. Short stories can be a few paragraphs long and be done well with the right set of writing skills. Fiction’s fun as we can explore a fantasy world and writing a novel can help children to exercise their imagination and create one of their own.
Word of The Day
As we’ve established, increasing your child’s vocabulary is a key part of helping them with their creative writing. A simple way that you can do this is by downloading a word of the day app. Every day, they will have the opportunity to learn a new word and in a years time, they will have learned 365.
