The exam period is going to be a tough time for a lot of children, so it’s important to explore ways to help your child in their studies, through ways that will help them succeed. A lot of kids have some core goals in mind, especially when they’re working towards key areas to let them study particular subjects.
Supporting Your Child During Exam Period

Exams are also a lot harder when your child is in high school, or 13+ schools in London. Your child may well have important grades to attain, especially when they’re reaching the end of their GCSEs or A Levels. Here in this guide, we look at ways you can help to support your child throughout their exam period and for any studying beyond this.
Give your child a quiet place to work
A lot of studies rely on hard work and a quiet space. Your child is going to need all of the space they can get to work on their revision and exam practice, so giving them a free space to work on these things will give them a lot more reassurance and practice. Provide a space away from those many distractions and they’ll have a lot more opportunities to concentrate.
Work on your child’s weak areas
There are going to be a lot of places that your child will struggle in. It’s human nature, and we all have areas that work well for us and those that don’t. We have a lot of opportunities to improve, and it’s a lot for children to manage on their own, so try to step in where you can. Make them look into learning methods from a different perspective.
Keep things in perspective
Work on areas your child will realistically improve. Make them feel like they’re doing the best they can in circumstances, and work towards those areas that will help them progress. Take a minute to talk to your child each week to see how they’re doing so that they’re not feeling disheartened by their progress.
