Navigating Relationships
As we get older the relationships that we have tend to change and become more intense. Even non-romantic relationships feel a shift as everyone grows up and starts to have different priorities in life. No long is life about knocking for your friends to go out and play or working out how you can afford a Saturday night out – instead, it’s about what shifts you’re on at work and how to pay the gas bill. One thing that comes with being a grownup is navigating romantic relationships and if/when you wish to start a family.
Whilst contraception is something that both parties should be in charge of, it usually comes down to the woman to arrange and ensure it is up to date. In the UK we have a range of contraception choices & places we can get advice on sexual health which can make things easier, but it isn’t always the easy thing to arrange and keep up with. Lovima recently looked into birth control around the world and how different countries deal with it and what the average choices are for the people that live there.
They also looked at how many people are actively on contraception in each country and how this varies between different parts of the world…. it makes for an interesting read.
Looking After Yourself
As we get older we start to realise the importance of looking after ourselves more and the difference this makes to how we feel. We know that drinking plenty of water and eating well makes all the difference to how we feel – and sleep definitely creeps up the ladder in terms of importance. Once I reached my mid-30s I definitely started to relish a good night’s sleep and recognise the importance of setting myself up for a good rest.
Finances
Being a grownup is all about making sensible financial decisions. We start to pick up more financial responsibilities – bills, loans, mortgages, children and even just knowing we should have some savings start to have a difference to how we spend money and what we consider a reasonable amount to spend on things compared to when we were younger.
